BMW iX M60, high performance requirements
BMW launched its iX electric SUV last year, and now, a few weeks after the first deliveries, comes the first expansion of the range, with a high-performance version badged M: the iX M60. The range already included the 240 kW iX40, followed by the 370 kW iX50, the iX M60 sends 455 kW (619 hp) and 1015 Nm of torque to its 4 tires. And even 1100 Nm in Sport mode when Launch Control is activated. The performance is therefore very impressive, with 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h. The official WLTP range is 566 km, but we're sure that we'll do much less than that if we use the car's full potential.
Some will even question the interest of such a monster, a very big and powerful SUV, but it was a question of honor for BMW. It was necessary to answer to Tesla! The young American manufacturer was the first to launch overpowered electric cars, and for BMW, which has built its reputation on the very good performance of its cars, there was no other alternative than to live up to it.
As expected from a BMW M, not only the acceleration, but also the running gear has been adapted to the new power, to get the best out of it. It remains to be seen at what price.
