Tesla: with success comes responsibility
To say that the Tesla Model 3 is a success is a nice understatement. Never has an electric car sold so well! Worldwide, as well as in the United States and Europe, the Tesla Model 3 was the best-selling electric car of 2021. Tesla is no longer small, and among other things, this means that the leniency that this manufacturer has long enjoyed, is no longer applicable today. An official investigation and several legal proceedings are underway regarding its AutoPilot system, whose capabilities have probably been overestimated by some, which will be in the news several times this year.
But today, it's a recall we're talking about, an official recall required by the US administration. 356,309 Tesla Model 3s will have to be modified to revise the installation of an electrical cable in the trunk, which could be severed by use, preventing the operation of the rearview camera. 119,009 Model S also need to be corrected for a misalignment of one of the front trunk latches.
Major manufacturers must regularly issue recalls, either by official request or on their own initiative, Tesla is now like them.
